Thurs, 3rd August

GERTZ – Mr.Wolf’s | Tickets

Hard hitting indie/alt rockers from Swindon, they’re sure to smash out some sing along chants and fast paced guitar lines. Support comes from Grip-Like Vice with a set from DJ Kibba going on ’til the early hours.

The FUs – Exchange | Tickets

With influences including The Clash, The Misfits, D.O.A., The Dictators, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, The F.U.’s began as an early-mid 80’s Boston Hardcore punk band. While their line-up may have shifted, you can expect the same energy they had all those years ago.

The Travis Waltons – The Louisiana | Tickets

The Travis Waltons return to The Louisiana to melt your faces in the saddest way possible with their incredible musicianship and witty banter. Joined by Arcadia Bay and Turner, two of the hottest bands in Bristol right now.

Joe Buck Yourself – Mother’s Ruin | Tickets

The once anti-Nashville based Joe Buck gained notoriety as the guitarist of Th’ Legendary Shack Shakers. Joe Buck Yourself is now a bona fide evil motherfucking, one man band.

Sat, 5th August

Hit the Deck Festival – Thekla | Tickets

Curating some of the best rock, pop punk and emo bands from across the country, Hit the Deck Festival returns to take over Thekla for all of Saturday, 5th August. Featuring sought-after sets from the likes of MILK TEETH, Decade, Big Spring, Grumble Bee, Wallflower, HCBP,Fights And Fires, Pushing Daisies and YOUTH, it’s a must-attend for any fans of the louder genres.

Kate Nash – The O2 Academy | Tickets

Kate Nash will be commemorating the ten-year anniversary of her platinum-selling debut album, Made Of Bricks. With support from Skating Polly, expect this show to be packed full of kick-ass women.

Elder – The Fleece | Tickets

Elder is the definition of a work in progress, as the group continues to meld the familiar sounds of Sleep‘s colossal riffage with their ever-evolving vision of soaring melodies and sonic soundscapes. Listeners will find themselves locked into the trio’s lengthy epics.

Big Fat Astronauts – The Crofter’s Rights | Tickets

Exmouth post-punk outfit Big Fat Astronauts are back to take over Bristol with their blend of darkened, doom funk. Last time was big – this will be bigger. Support comes from School Disco and Pleasant Trees.

The Creepshow – The Fleece | Tickets

‘Life After Death’ is the latest full-length from Canada’s reigning heavyweight champions of macabre, horror-soaked radness and proves them to be like a bombshell in a whirlwind. The force of nature known as The Creepshow is not to be missed.

Lucky Chops – Thekla | Tickets

Armed with the belief that positive music can change the world, Lucky Chops is on a mission to bring life back into the music industry. The intensity of the band’s energy is fueled by their desire to inspire others.

Osmoid – The Gallimaufry | Free

Made up of Jonny Henderson on organ and Matt Brown on drums, expect an original and classic take on funk, boogaloo, blues. Think New Orleans music, Osmoid style.

Weds, 9th Aug

Pete Canter Quartet – Bristol Fringe | Free

If soulful, smooth jazz is your thing, the Bristol Fringe events are a must-see. The excellent Devon based composer and saxophonist Pete Canter brings his superb Quartet to to Fringe Jazz for the very fist time.

LosFeliz – No 1 Harbourside | Free

LosFeliz is the music vehicle for Brighton based singer-songwriter Lucy Powell who specialises in melancholia, chamber like vocals & reverb guitar. We are thrilled to welcome and support her newly released album ‘Ancestry’, ridden with night time folk sounds.
