Nine years ago Pianos Become The Teeth joined a collective tagged ‘The Wave’, a group of like-minded bands that performed emotional charged lyrics as melody and dissonance fought for some kind of harmony.

Fusing what is most easily dubbed as screamo with the introspective post-rock grandeur a la Mogwai and This Will Destroy You, Pianos grew quickly into a force to be reckoned with, vocalist Kyle Durfey’s tortured rasps winning the hearts of music lovers around the world with their highly-praised LPs ‘Old Pride and The Lack Long After’.

2014 saw Pianos change their stripes somewhat, Durfey’s patented screams abandoned and the five-piece exercising considerable restraint on their third LP ‘Keep You’. It’s a divisive move, the absence of such core themes polarizing to their fan base, but we imagine their long-awaited return to the UK will quash any doubters in the ranks.
